About Sarah

Hey I’m Sarah.

Hello, I’m Sarah Slade — a women’s health physiotherapist, athlete, female strength coach, and mum of two.

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2014 with First-Class Honours, and spent the first six years of my career working within the NHS, gaining experience in orthopaedics, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and pelvic health. Stepping into a senior pelvic health role on the labour ward and in outpatient clinics alongside obstetricians and gynaecologists is where I truly found my passion for women’s health.

As a former England netball athlete, I’ve lived the realities of RED-s and the impact it can have on performance, wellbeing, and identity. This experience sparked a deeper curiosity about the unique physiology of the female body, and ultimately shaped my mission: to help female athletes understand their bodies and train in a way that supports long-term health and athletic potential.

Before becoming pregnant with my first child, I experienced a miscarriage — an event that opened my eyes to the lack of support around baby loss. This deepened my empathy and understanding for the women I work with, many of whom navigate complex emotional and physical challenges.

When I became pregnant again, I found myself feeling unexpectedly anxious about training. Despite working in this field and knowing the benefits of exercise, the generalised advice of “just listen to your body” felt insufficient for an athlete with performance goals. Once the first-trimester nausea passed, I was eager to step back into training — but quickly realised there was little guidance for women like me who wanted to stay active safely and intentionally.

After giving birth to a healthy baby boy, I faced the same lack of structure in my postnatal return to high-intensity functional fitness. Having run multiple marathons and trained 5–6 days a week in CrossFit before pregnancy, I was shocked by how little support existed for women returning to performance-level training. This gap inspired me to specialise further in postnatal rehabilitation and athletic return-to-sport pathways.

Today, I run both an in-person and online women’s health clinic, and offer evidence-based prenatal and postnatal training programmes designed to empower women through every stage of life.

I believe every active woman deserves to feel strong, supported, and confident in her body — whether she’s preparing for pregnancy, returning to sport postpartum, or navigating pelvic health symptoms such as incontinence or prolapse that too often go dismissed. It is never too early, or too late, to seek help. Pelvic health symptoms can always be improved at any age and at any stage — and they should never be a barrier to living an active, fulfilling life.
